Electrical Installation Condition Report
(BS 7671:2008 provides written guidance)
A valid Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) should be carried out on the vehicle no less that once every 3 years. There should be a test certificate sticker displayed with an appropriate date and date of next inspection) This report requires a more detailed inspection and testing than the basic servicing checks.
This is defined as “A thorough external examination of the condition of the accessories, equipment and wiring” and “careful scrutiny of accessible accessories and equipment.
Where during the servicing schedule either and in date EICR is not present or the specified time has elapsed then it will be recommended that this Report is carried out, however if this is refused then the customer will be asked to sign a written disclaimer to acknowledge this fact.
